Salto Mortale is a blooming Danish quintet (5 members) from Copenhagen.

Silent sound from a mouth. Mandolin tunes mix up with a melodic vibraphone, ambient bas and clattered drums. A clarinet gets together with a childish melodica and edgy guitar harmonies.
A four-voiced man choir joins in as a female voice sings of luminous days and long nights.
Beautiful music is born in a dark basement at Nørrebro, Copenhagen.
We are Salto Mortale.

With two new tracks on their myspace their repertoire is steadily growing and Salto Mortale have plans of releasing their debut EP in 2010.
And with lots of gigs played already you should definitely look forward to the release.

A funky guitar riff fills the speakers, leaving my thought with Prince.
A distorted voice starts singing and the guitar goes even more funky.
The track builds up – then a quiet passage – and then towards the end Salto just let go on the instruments and releases enough energy to start a small big bang.
This is how “Skin” feels like when you give it a listen. It’s a pleasure!

“Obstacles” is a bit more toned down, however you really get to hear the beautiful vocal. The keys play a bigger role in the melody and together with the mandolin(?) and the vocal, Salto Mortale give us a soft and pleasant tune.
