Det Sejler i Effekter - Den Danske Sang Er En Ond, Blond Pia

Into: Det Sejler i Effekter – since February 2008

Det Sejler I Effekter (english translation: Awash in effects) is a trio consisting of Kee Fritchards/Jdreng, Daniel Sarstedt and tummy_dob, all formerly of B&B International. Musically, Det Sejler I Effekter revolve around elements from genres like dubtechno, electronica and dubstep.

The trio has just released their debut EP ”Den danske sang er en ond, blond Pia” (May 2010) and done remixes for artists like Peter Sommer, Junkyard Productions, Quadron, Eloq, Spejderrobot and Specktors.

1. The track ”BTSTU” by young London producer Jai Paul is an explorative merge between Hudson Mohawke and M.I.A. The result is very succesful – in af glitchy and soulful way! We’re looking forward to an official release.

James Blake – Limit to Your Love (download)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

2. ”Limit to Your Love” is an amazing sub bass cover tune by 22 year old, UK-based, dubstep/garage producer/vocalist James Blake (also known as Harmonimix). The original version is by Canadian singer Feist. Please enjoy this minimalistic peice of bass and soul vocal art!

Dark Sky – Something To Lose (download)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

3. ”Something To Lose” by Dark Sky has that nostalgic, early nineties rave sound combined with weirdly pitched vocal samples and more up-to-date production value. It’s the best of (at least) three worlds!

Der er krabbens bevægelser og der er togets (Aslope remix) by spejderrobot

4. “Der er krabbens bevægelser, og der er togets (Aslope Remix)”. The mighty Aslope remixing for SpejderRobot on this one, transforming the beautiful sadness of the original into a sombre, almost psychedelic train ride, somewhere in between techno, electronica and something almost w**ky. Oh, and a bit of acid thrown in there for good measure!

Det Sejler I Effekter – Blodprøve (download)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

5. “Blodprøve”: Perhaps our favourite track from our EP right now. It’s got a dubtechno vibe, but also some ‘steppy rimshots and a slightly wobbly bassline. I really like the juxtaposition of noisy, elements and the rather beautiful piano towards the end. It’s sort of a guilty pleasure. It’s our version of dream house, perhaps. The title means “Blood Sample”, by the way.

Det Sejler I Effekter – Hvor er Farlige Klaus (Tzara RMX) (download)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

6. “Hvor er Farlige Klaus? (Tzara Remix)”: This is a remix of our track by an extremely talented young producer named Natal. Tzara is his dubstep moniker, but he also works as Aebeloe doing more electronica-type things (watch out for his forthcoming EP!). There’s a sinister yet elegant feel to this track.
