Friday Bangers (week 23)
It’s a rainy Friday this one so here are a few tracks to get you started!
New York-based DESIGNER DRUGS did a fine remix of Milke whom I’ve been able to find no info about.
Paula Abdul was to me an unknown artist until I found this nice little tune. It has a great 80′s sound and Dashiki Johnson remixed it. Dancable I say!
Yoko Ono means “child of the ocean”. Best known for her marriage to John Lennon, but she has always been a part of the groundbreaking art and music culture of New York. Morel remixed this.
Back in 1984 Suzanne Vega released “Tom’s Diner”, an a cappella pop song which soon got well know. It’s been the subject of many remixes, best known is maybe the DNA remix from 1990. This bootleg remix is from Dutch Bingo Players.
Last but not least we give you a Moullinex remix of Sebastien Tellier‘s “Kilometer”. It’s quite a funky remix with a great bass and a melodic tune!

Paula Abdul had a song by the same title but a far different taste indeed..

You are so right! I wonder why that track is mislabeled..

Just to add to the negativeness: That Debbie harry joint has been badly fucked by using Ableton Live’s pitch controls. D’er ikke noget.

Nice blog. Great tracks. Commenting to say thanks for this post. Sometimes it truly feels like I am the only Morel fan on the internets. Glad to see I’m not.
The man has a voice that is so beautiful it’s almost hypnotic.
