What’s new in town you ask? I’ll tell you son, hang tight.

The Sound of Copenhagen vol. 6 is on it’s way and on that we’ll find many a track worth listening to. A few of the tracks have already been featured on the site, but I’d like to pull a new one out the sleeve.
Shanghai is a danish duo that’s been around since 2008. It’s clear that they draw their inspiration from the 80′s. This first single “Smoke and Mirrors” has been featured on Danish Radio P3. There is a neat little music video out there. Remember to buy the track if you like it!

Another great danish artist is Oh Land. She were supposed to perform a koncert at Koncerthuset the 17th of March this year but it has been postponed to April 2012! This is a track from her upcoming album due to be released 15th of March and it has been remixed by Twin Shadow.

This next track has been a major hit and various remixes has come out of it by Jamie XX and Keljet among others. The latter was features in out x-mas calendar. However I fell over this neat and minimalistic-ish remix by our very own danish Michael JT whom you might know for his amazing edit of Ricardo Villalobos’ “Enfants”. Enjoy.

Danish one man army Eim Ick just released a 2 track EP via Taragana Pyjarama’ SoundCloud. It’s playful and definitely with a nice beat. This is the track “Pi”, a dreamy track with lots of samples and vocal cutting.

In a completely different genre we find a new remix by Abe&Ven. This is Niklas feat. Mukupa with the track “Ild på Nørrebro”. This is 4-to-the-floor techno. Play it loud!

Det er altså Abe&Ven vi taler om.

Denne gang har de haft fat i lidt af en klassiker. Michael Jackson‘s “They Don’t Care About Us” fra 1996 nåede aldrig højere end nummer 30 på den amerikanske single-hitliste det år, men kom helt til toppen i andre land. Siden har vi hørt tracket om og om igen og der er lavet mange coverversioner af det.

Nu i år 2009 – året hvor kongen af pop døde – har vores gode venner fra Abe&Ven taget tracket til sig og givet det deres helt eget præg.

Det betyder politiske taler, sol, øl og Fælledparken. Det er også derfor vi i denne omgang poster ugens Friday Bangers så umådeligt tidligt.

Vi starter med et track fra Kid Sister som er blevet dubsteppet ordentligt op af britiske Rusko.

Så springer vi hen til et lidt mere houset track lavet af den hollandske duo Chocolate Puma.
Videre til “Prom Night” af Linus Loves.

Altid maskebærende Bloody Beetroots har haft godt gang i Timberlands “Miscommunication” og i mine øjne er tracket trukket op på et helt nyt dansevenligt stadie, dog stadig med den velkendte distortion fra The Beetroots!!

Sidst men ikke mindst har vi æren af af præsentere endnu et Abe&Ven-remix! Denne gang har de danske drenge haft fingrene i Anna Davids “Tæt På”. Og endnu en gang <3 vi det!!
