News from Florence + the Machine

Share By Foss

From the soundtrack of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse we find the little sweet track “Heavy in Your Arms”. It’s by Florence + the Machine. But recently C-Berg from the Swedish group Hird remixed this little track and something nice and a bit more beaty came out of it.

This IS a Band

I'm not a BandFor quite a while we’ve been getter e-mail from a guy named Stephan Jung. Turns out he’s German and a part of the Berlin based electroduo I’m not a Band.

So I figured why not give it a listen, after all some of the best electronic artists are from Germany. The tracks I’ve heard differ a bit from the usual electro people send us. The fact that they blend in a violin adds something to the tracks! And tracks like “Crazy” are just so filled with power and energy.

I’m not a Band have also done some great remixes of artists like Florence and The Machine, Digitalism and The Dodoz.

We bring a few of the finest here at Hejven.se for your pleasure.

Buy their releases here and give them some facebook love.

Friday Guest Bangers (week 1)

Share By Foss

Friday Guest Bangers (week 1)The first post in this new decade might be somewhat unorthodox. Friday Bangers on a Tuesday? Is this madness possible?

Yes, I tell you! It’s been a while since our last post so we don’t give a damn!

As assistant booker and promoter-extraordinaire for Rust Sven Houlberg knows what’s going on with the music scene. We asked him to throw a few songs at us that he have been listening to the past couple of weeks, and the reason why he kept listening to these tracks.

Crookers feat. Soulwax & Mixhell – “We Love Animals”
“The track has a raw energy and a clear grandiose impact from Soulwax.”

Riva Starr feat. Nôze – “I Was Drunk (Douster Remix)”
“Douster took a fun tune and turned it even more playful. It’s really one for the girls.”

Florence + The Machine – “You’ve Got The Love (The XX Remix) (Renaissance Man Edit)”
“A raw and organic tune which I find incredibly attractive.”

Fake Blood – “Fix Your Accent”
“After the release of Mars I was afraid that Fake Blood was just another bass-hungering group from United Kingdom. This track however shows what else they are capable of.”

Douster – King of Africa
“Representing Africa! This is the new sound that I’m diggin’, it’s playful and not that serious and I’m looking forward to much more tracks from Douster.”

Franz Ferdinand – No You Girls (The Rouge Elements Remix)
“The Rouge Elements Remix = Rave”

And heeere comes music.

Florence + The Remix

Share By admin

Florence + The MachineHvis man har overset Florence + The Machine det seneste stykke tid har man nok boet på en øde ø uden nogen form for kommunikation med omverdenen. De er blevet spillet overalt og er nok bedst kendt for “Dog Days Are Over” og deres coverversion af “You’ve Got The Love” (originalt indspillet af The Source feat. Candi Staton).

Chromeo, jeg faldt over en groovy coverversion af Eagles “I Can’t Tell You Why”.
