After another busy week we’ve finally reached the weekend. That means bangers!

I’ll bring you a few track that I think we’ll hear much this summer!

Starting out with Dirty Gold and their “California Sunrise”. I fell over this neat track while exploring a new favorite, Hannes Fischer. It a feel-good track with a great vibe to it and what a riff!

Next up we have Junior Boys. “In the Morning” have been remixed by British Hot Chip. It’s a nice and dreamy track with some heavy synth and an audible touch of Hot Chip!

Gorillaz is always up for a nice track and “Melancholy Hill” is no exception. Feed Me aka. DJ Jon Gooch aka Spor did a great little remix.

French band Phoenix won enormous international recognition and respect with their 4th studio album “Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix”. The first track on this album, Lisztomania has been remixed numerous times but this remix beats them all, I think. Alex Metric did it and it’s just awesome.

Last track is a bit more brutal than the for previous. Noah and the Whale released their third studio album a few months ago. The first amazing single from the album to hit the radio was “L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N”. Fake Blood remixed the hell out of that track. Take a listen to the original and then the remix. Brutal, huh?

On it again! This Friday I’m going to share a few newly purchased disco tracks I’ve been diggin’ the past days.
I must say that I’m quite new to this disco-thing a almost none of the names are known to me..

But starting with an artist most people know, Hot Chip. From their 2010 album “One Life Stand” we find “Hand Me Down You Love”. This track has a nice heavy beat and funky tune. It breaks down to a vocal/bass-thing right in the middle of the track. Classy. It’s been remixed by UK based Wild Geese.

Next track is from another UK based artist;2020 Soundsystem. The track is called “Ocean” and is from their 2009 album “Falling”. Originally it’s a slow-beat funky track but DFA-signed (pssst Hot Chip is also DFA-signed!) Ray Mang remixed this into a bit more disconess.

Yet another UK based artist brings us the next track. Bonar Bradberry is the name of the artist and “Siula Grande” is the name of the track. Remixed by Pete Herbert it’s a track of pure disco rhythms with no vocal at all.

We’ll be ending this Friday Banger with two original mixes from Hannulelauri and Tape To Tape. Hannulelauri brings us a hard beating no vocal track with a lot of disco-house potential. Same goes for Tape To Tape, no vocal, sweet disco and house beats but a bit more futuristic sound. I love it!

Friday = Friday Bangers.

I’ll try to make it brief this time. I know you’re all sick of reading about the artist you are listening to..

Personal favorite remixer Foamo did a splendid remix of Franz Ferdinand‘s “No You Girls”. It’s kinda upbeat and playful. I love it.

The next two are certain club hits. Kylie Minogue with “All Her Lovers” in a remix by Michael Woods. Why this track? Kylie is freggin’ hot and this tune has a great melody although it might be a bit too club-ish and monotone in the beginning. But just wait for the chorus – it keeps on going!

Katy Perry seems to have the club and radio hits up her sleeve, and Barletta remixed her most recent (or is it? Can’t keep up!). Anyway it’s the one with the “California Girls”.

This next one is an Aussie remixing an Aussie. Trumpdisco remixing REgurgitatOR and the song is simply called “!”.

Last one is a personal apple of my eye. Hot Chip who you can hear live in Vega tonight got remixed by awesome Fake Blood. This is “Touch Too Mouch”.

This Friday we have a little bit of this and a little bit of that for you.

We’ll start with British Audio Bullys . “Only Man” has been remixed by Milano based Reset! and it’s a mix of a funky bass and groovy tunes!

Next we have Bardeenz with “Messed Up Maison”. It’s definitely house, but it’s way more than that. With spacy sounds Bardeenz play with us and take us one a journey.

Another British band, Monarchy, is up next. Kris Menace took their “The Phoenix Alive” through his German electro-machine and what a track! Almost in the trance genre, but it surely has Banger potential!

Always experimental Hot Chip brought in folk/rock musician Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy for this next track. “I Feel Bonnie” is a re-vocal of “I Feel Better” which you can find on Hot Chips newest album “One Life Stand“.

Last but not least we bring you a bit of an MTV-hit. “Rude Boy” was originally a term for Jamaican juvenile delinquents and criminals in the 1960′s. But what most people think of is of course the hit by Rihanna that has been peaking most charts around the world. Remixed by Chew Fu who is know for taking hit songs and doing them more club friendly.

Nu udgiver de navne som Hot Chip, Hercules and Love Affair, LCD Soundsystem og The Juan MacLean.

I får her et udvalg af DFA’s bedste remixet af hhv. Tiga, D.I.M. og James Curd.
