Through the years Italian electro duo The Beetroots have remixed some heavy names like Tiga, MSTRKRFT, The Toxic Avenger and The Chemical Brothers. They have become quite an act themselves with the scary Venom masks.

Often compared to Justice and Daft Punk, The Bloody Beetroots quickly developed their own imitable style and gained notoriety throughout the blogosphere with tracks such as ‘Rombo’, ‘Cornelius’ and ‘Domino’.

The album ranges from some of the more quiet tracks (in Beetroot terminology!) like the remix of Robyn’s “Cobrastyle” to the heavy distorted tracks like “72 Virgins” by Shitdisco.

It’s an amazing collection of remixes if you keep in mind that The Beetroots was formed in late 2006. Track like Tiga‘s “Mind Dimention”, MSTRKRFT‘s “Bounce” and The Chemical Brothers‘ “Dissolve” have ‘that classic Beetroot-sound’ and became major blog-hits instantly loved by thousands all over the world.

The album is definitely worth the buy if you are into heavy beats and distorted tracks. But if the tracks below makes your head ace, do not waste your money. Spend it on the indie music you love so much.

Tonight there’s a big “Remember to 00′s”-party going down so this Friday Banger might be a bit old school inspired.

We’ll be starting with a new track from march this year. Howard & Stereo released a 10″ vinyl with two of their own tracks on the A-side leaving the B-side to Jaques Raupé. German Raupé took the good old theme from “Olsen-banden” (aka. “The Olsen Gang”) and remixed it in a jazzy way. We love it!

Supermode was glowing hot back in 2006 especially with the house/dance track “Tell me Why”. Good ol’ Redlight aka. Tim Nelson did a pretty fine remix of this flying track!

This next one might be a bit older but it’s still a classic! Swedish pop group The Cardigans released this one back in ’96 but Canadian Barletta remixed this oldie keeping the sweet vocal (almost) intact.

The next track is a must-play at every party that tries to keep it old school. Eiffel 65 released “I’m Blue” in ’99 on the edge of the new millennium. No further introduction needed. 12″ Plastic Toys (don’t ask about the name..) remixed this goodie making it a real distortion feast.

Last one was a real R&B hit back in 2008 peaking most charts at #10 or above. Played endless times at MTV, however the public ear never heard this delicious MSTRKRFT remix. I’m talking about “Love In This Club” by Usher.

Starting out with the always neat and often posted Fever Ray and her dark and special sound. Rex The Dog remixed the track “Triangle Walks” but kept the sound of Karin Dreijer with a twist!

Next up we have a mashup. To the background music of Justice, Wale and Lady Gaga are rapping their way through the track.

Canadian MSTRKRFT is always up for a good party. Their track “Fist of God” is just booming with energy.

The same goes for Swedish Hugg & Pepp. With their house sound and the touch of Tocadisco the track “Sweet Rosie” is bound to be a banger!

Grum spits out disco-tech ready for the dance floor! And it doesn’t get much better when the track swooped by German FutureFlashs for additional disco rhythms!

De to herrer David Macklovitch og Patrick Gemayel slår deres folder i Montreal og kan snildt skrive Canadas mest succesrige electrofunk duo på deres CV. Stærkt inspireret af 80′ernes synth-pop og lækre rytmer skruer de helt op for guitarens funk-funktion. Siden 2002 har vi kunne svinge lårbassen til deres inspirerende rytmer fra tracks som “Fancy Footwork”, “Needy Girl”, “Tenderoni”, ” Bonafied Lovin’” og “Call Me Up”.

Deres nye single hedder “Night By Night” og der er ingen tvivl om at den kommer direkte fra hjertet af fede beats og svedig guitar, med en lækker tekst som kun Chromeo kan gøre det.

Jeg kan lige så godt sige det: Chromeo har lavet alt for mange fede tracks til at kunne retfærdiggøre dem her, men i får lige et lille udvalg af personlige favoritter og så naturligvis deres nyeste.

Vi starter derfor med et personligt yndlingstrack fra Sébastian Tellier. Franskmanden deltog i The Eurovision Song Contest aka. Melodi Grand Prix i 2008 med tracket “Divine”. Siden er det blevet pumpet hårdt som jern af landsmanden Danger. Vi taler distortion og melodiske toner med et snært af hård rockguitar i en herlig sommerblanding.

Jesse Perez har haft fingrene i den gamle Haddaway-klassiker “What Is Love” og dette er hans “Downtown” mix af sangen. Lad os bare sige: “sådan har De aldrig fået den før”.
Går vi videre i dagens tracks finder vi et vildt mix lavet af MSTRKRFT. Vi snakker om John Legend og Andre 3000′s “Green Light”.

Designer Drugs har bragt tracket “Back Up In This” og Le Castle Vania, Computer Club og Rrrump bringer os remixet!

Anglo Satellite fra The States har lavet tracket “Big Black Spider” som er remixet af Les Petits Pilous. Distortion siger jeg bare!!

I denne uge starter vi med lidt Lou Van. Det passer ikke, han kommer nemlig som bonustrack! Lou Van er en københavnsk DJ og bevæger sig i techno- electronic- eksperimental-genren. Her kan man roligt sige at han holder sig i det eksperimenterende hjørne. Det’ swing og det’ jazz! Han spiller også til Distortion.
