Today The Bloody Beetroots releases their “Best of… Remixes” album.

Through the years Italian electro duo The Beetroots have remixed some heavy names like Tiga, MSTRKRFT, The Toxic Avenger and The Chemical Brothers. They have become quite an act themselves with the scary Venom masks.

Often compared to Justice and Daft Punk, The Bloody Beetroots quickly developed their own imitable style and gained notoriety throughout the blogosphere with tracks such as ‘Rombo’, ‘Cornelius’ and ‘Domino’.

The album ranges from some of the more quiet tracks (in Beetroot terminology!) like the remix of Robyn’s “Cobrastyle” to the heavy distorted tracks like “72 Virgins” by Shitdisco.

It’s an amazing collection of remixes if you keep in mind that The Beetroots was formed in late 2006. Track like Tiga‘s “Mind Dimention”, MSTRKRFT‘s “Bounce” and The Chemical Brothers‘ “Dissolve” have ‘that classic Beetroot-sound’ and became major blog-hits instantly loved by thousands all over the world.

The album is definitely worth the buy if you are into heavy beats and distorted tracks. But if the tracks below makes your head ace, do not waste your money. Spend it on the indie music you love so much.

Yay! We are finally back with some action on the blog and this means friday bangers for your ears!

Canadian Tiga released his 2nd album, “Ciao!” in April 2009. From this album we find “What You Need”, a track that got remixed about a month ago by Chicago-based Midnight Conspiracy. They gave the mix a fitting title: “Summer of ’87 Remix”. It’s so 80′s, you might even break a sweat from moving your feed to the rhythm!

Moving 10 years forward in time we hit the classic “Brimful of Asha” by British Cornershop. Back then it was a major hit, remixed by Fatboy Slim among others. HeroesOfTheParty killed the waiting time for Toy Story 3 by doing this great remix.

Another classic hit is the Beastie Boys‘ “Sabotage”. Alex Metric who did the amazing “Stylo” remix had a take on this track and it turned out pretty good. A lot of distortion is on the way!

Youngest son of reggae king Bob Marley, Damian Marley worked together with hip-hopper Nas on this next track. Normally I’m not into hip-hop at all, but this track reminds me a bit more of dancehall and reggae than hip-hop. And the fact that Foamo remixed it was an eyeopener.

Last track this friday is a danish one! Nabiha had a huge radio hit with the track “Deep Sleep” so of course it was only a matter of time before someone did a club remix of this. This someone is British Bitrocka who is know for his remixes of Kylie Minogue and Sugarbabes. As a bonus info Nabiha was already discovered in 2006 and released tracks under the alias Tiger Lily.

DFA records (Death From Abroad) blev grundlagt i 2001 af 3 gutter, bl.a. James Murphy fra LCD Soundsystem.
De mødte selvfølgelig hinanden i byernes by, New York, og begyndte at udgive 12″ vinyl og tilslutningen er groet støt de seneste par år.
Nu udgiver de navne som Hot Chip, Hercules and Love Affair, LCD Soundsystem og The Juan MacLean.

I får her et udvalg af DFA’s bedste remixet af hhv. Tiga, D.I.M. og James Curd.

Gennembrudshittet “Fuck The Pain Away” starter med de famøse ord “Suckin’ on my titties like you wanted me, calling me ..”, men så visuelt beskrivende er langt fra alle hendes sange som dog næsten altid handler om sex. Her bringer vi to remix, et af Tits & Clits og et af Tiga.

Det nye album fra Peaches, “I Feel Cream”, udkommer d. 4 maj i Europa.
Tiga udkommer med “Ciao!” d. 27. april.
