Friday Bangers (week 15)

Share By Foss

Yet another week has come and gone. And Now we can celebrate the weekend with all it’s joys! Starting with a musical treat from your old friend Hejven.se.

Frederik Olufsen did a great remix of Turboweekend‘s “Into The Pavement”. The track has been a major hit on Danish Radio P3 and this remix is just wonderful!

Moving on we find this great rework of Donna Summer‘s “Our Love” by local heroes Michael JT and Peter ‘Sorte Slyngel’ Zody. It just smells like summer!

The Big Crunch is a theory of how the universe will come to an end. Something with a big collapse and us all ending in a big black hole. Anyway The Big Crunch Theory is a French based duo. They play sweet little electro pop with a sweet little vocal. All very boring until The Juan MacLean enters and disco thing up!

Now we are bringing out the heavy bangers and Chase & Status brings this next one. Their major hit featuring Liam Bailey called “Blind Faith” has been remixed by Trolley Snatcha. It’s an aggressive mix, trust you me! I’m looking forward to these guys at Roskilde 2011.

Last track will definitely get your Friday going. It’s from German D.I.M.. And it’s even been mixed by Le Castle Vania. Enjoy the noise!

Friday Guest Bangers (week 1)

Dj Rockerdelic, an up coming Dj in the lovely night life of Copenhagen.
Has been spinning behind the decks for many years now, but just for the joy of her self and friends at small local places.
She is known for her old school hip hop, rare female rappers and her love for disco.

I’ve chosen to share some of the newer and some old tracks that I’m crazy about.

1. Coco Moon – There is a change (PANAMAH vocal remix)
They are an amazing Danish group playing experimental pop, i love the elegance and smoothness of the music and the singers voice, its just like eating the worlds best chocolate mousse!
I choose the remix made by Panamah, they made the song more up tempo and dance friendly.

2. Tensnake – Need your lovin
Tensnake is a producer from Hamburg and he is my new teenage crush. He just made the album “Coma cat” which is filled up whit banging new sounds of the 90′s.
He is a really big inspiration to me.

3. Chromeo – Hot mess
Its always a hit when i play Chromeo at party’s, they are to me the new modern 70′s Michael Jackson.
They have been one of my favourite groups for many years know, and I’m of cause crazy about the new hit “Hot mess!
I love the humour in the music and there new disco sounds. They can always put big a smile on my face and i can never sit still when its playing.

4. Cassius – Feeling for you
Its really hard for me to put words on what i think about Cassius, because they got a special place in my heart!
The album “1999″ from the same year, is an never dieing hit, and in my world properly the best album of all time.
I fill up the dance floor every time i play it. And i hear it every time before i go out!

5. New Order – Blue monday
This track randomly popped up on my Ipod last week and i cant remember last time i heard it, and now if been hearing it everyday since.
I love darkness of this track but still in a more disco dance friendly version.

6. Efterklang – Full moon (Turboweekend remix)
I love this track, the deep kind of 80′s feeling over it. And still its a really great track to dance to. The real versions is really great but Turboweekend just made it more my taste!

Hope you will enjoy it!

XOXO
Sara

Brynjar & Borneland made this neat and moody house-ish remix of Turboweekend’s “Now”.

“Now” is from the free EP Turboweekend released through their website in the beginning of November.

Brynjar is also the producer of the earlier mentioned Kúra project. He teamed up with the two brothers Borneland for the remix of “Now.

Enjoy!

Friday Bangers (week 47)
Peew, it’s been a busy week! And I’m sure the next weeks till Christmas will be busy as well! Sorry for the inactivity, we’ll try to do better for you guys, but having to study and work is making the time for research and posting limited.

We have more danish music this week starting off with the three man Copenhagen based band Turboweekend. They released their 2nd album entitled “Ghost of a Chance” but in the past they also released a 12″ vinyl called “Into You” with four tracks. This mix is done by reasonably unknown Ken Kay but it seems like this dane did a lot of club mixes.

Next up we have well known Jamaican Major Lazer with the track “Keep It Going Louder”. A lot of huys and girls remixes the Major and this is done by Dale Rico Maíra y Jos. It’s a nice party tune with the usual reggae feel.

Not too many days ago New York based Redlight sent us his newest remix! This time he threw himself at Kid Sister remixing her “Life On TV”.

Radioclit are Johan Hugo and Dj Tron. These guys are doing jungle electronica and they sent us “Saga Africa”.

The last track we have this Friday is from danish Copyfokking. The slow funky heavily fuck-cutted track they bring us is called “Rio Funk Fixing” and among others US Claude Von Stroke features on this track. Copyfokking themselves did a refix.

Enjoy the weekend!
Oh yeah by the way some of us are going to the Miike Snow gig at Loppen tonight! See you there ;)
